"I am a supporter and friend of children who are benefitting from the Hearing and Speech Center programs."
- Jennifer Rosdail
The Hearing and Speech Center is a community-based nonprofit, helping people from infants to adults in the Bay Area who have hearing or speech challenges. Located in San Francisco, it serves people of all income levels, offering clinical services, a school, after-school and summer programs, senior programs and counseling.
The Hearing and Speech Center hosts a fundraiser to support our charitable work, including children and family programs and clinical services for low-income individuals. Sponsors of the event will receive ad space in the program book and recognition in the presentation.
This one is actually a theatre event. We are having a showing of See What I’m Saying, a film about deaf performers, followed by a Q&A session with the director. Normally our big fundraisers (dinner/luncheon) are around 100 people, but, since this is a theatre, we’re actually expecting much more. It’s the first time we’ve done this style of event, but I’d expect a couple hundred people to attend.
We will spread the word through our friends at various organizations that serve deaf clients since we’ll get a good response rate there. We will also promote the event through media releases, reaching out to local contacts in TV and radio and submitting to community calendars such as The Guardian. We will not be doing paid advertising, however.
