"San Francisco SAFE has helped me organize a Neighborhood Watch group where I reside. The facilitators of SAFE have organized residents in the neighborhood to problem solve effectively, provide important crime-prevention strategies and bring in city agencies such as the SFPD, the Red Cross and the Area Supervisor’s office. Our neighborhood is now more connected to one another through the guidance of SAFE. Neighbors know each other, are aware of concerns in the area and are generally more informed about crime and how to problem solve effectively."

San Francisco SAFE, Inc. (Safety Awareness for Everyone) is a nonprofit organization located in San Francisco that guides residents, business owners and community members to improve the quality of life in their neighborhoods. SAFE provides education and support regarding public safety and assists community members in identifying and resolving issues of crime and violence. SAFE partners with the San Francisco Police Department (SFPD) to provide crime-prevention education and to organize support for communities and Neighborhood Watch groups. We engage and empower community members to take an active role in problem solving and working together to create safe, vibrant neighborhoods. We believe that everyone in San Francisco has the right to be safe.
SAFE serves over 2,000 residents and merchants per year, including some of the most vulnerable populations: children, seniors, persons with disabilities and monolingual communities. Together with community members and the SFPD, SAFE provides the tools and resources to reduce and prevent crime, to build strong relationships with the police and city agencies and to create more cohesive and resilient communities.
